...Charlotte Brennan

Charlotte Brennan has 16 years professional experience working in the arts within many sectors such as community, education, voluntary, local authority, arts funding and arts organisation. During this time she has honed specific professional qualities that she brings to all her work:-
  • strong leadership skills and the ability to work as part of a team to develop, implement and sustain long term strategies across all sectors of an arts business, department or partnership
  • excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • shrewd ability to spot partnership and funding opportunities in their infancy that will help deliver and enhance arts initiatives, capital development targets and long term business strategies
  • committed, passionate with a strong sense of professionalism and high standards of working practice

...Career to date

Over the last 16 years Charlotte Brennan has worked for a range of organisations. Most recently Charlotte worked for Number 8 Community Arts Centre. Number 8 is inspired and led by the people of Pershore. She originally worked for the community group as a freelance Arts Liaison Officer (2001-2004) developing new professional and community partnerships, capacity building and developing audiences for the future. From 2004 when the newly built arts centre opened she was initially the only full time employee pioneering their programming, marketing and educational activity and working as part of the Executive Management team on strategic & business development. During her 8 years at Number 8 she was also part of several key county arts development initiatives including Worcestershire Arts Marketing, Worcestershire Dance Promoters and Worcestershire Arts Forum.Other employment includes Arts Council England, West Midlands - Development Officer (Education & Learning) and Stratford-upon-Avon College FE – Programme Manager & Lecturer.

She has worked freelance throughout her 16 years professional practice mainly in the areas of fundraising and as a drama practitioner.

Charlotte is a trustee of Dancefest, the dance development agency for Worcestershire and Herefordshire, and is leading the Board’s Fundraising Sub-Committee. She has also been a trustee of Audience’s Central, Hereward and C&T.

In January 2008 Charlotte attended the Clore Leadership Short Course, a two week residency providing intensive personal development, an examination of the nature of good leadership and an introduction to key areas of expert knowledge essential to effective cultural leadership
